The main purposes of Ilyas Afandiyev Literary Charity Foundation “Tomodachy” Japanese Cultural centre is to familiarize Japan, its culture, art, public figures, men of art, and scientists, in Azerbaijan, and to deliver the information about Azerbaijan culture, art and history exactly to the Japanese. On April 7th, 2007 Ilyas Afandiyev Literary Charity Foundation “TOMODACHY” Japanese Cultural Centre organized literary soiree in Modern Art Centre dedicated to the great personality, world-famous Japan producer and script writer Akira Kurosava.

Cultural relationship between Ilyas Afandiyev Literary Charity Foundation and international organizations, the embassies in our republic is expanding day after day. To propagate Azerbaijan culture, art, literature, history, the reality of Azerbaijan of today, to serve to the strengthening if our State organization, to improve the image of our people before the eyes of world Society is one of the main principles of the Foundation.

The conference dedicated to the outstanding representative of the XX century Azerbaijan literature. People's writer, State award laureate Ilyas Afandiyev's memory was held at the meeting-hall of Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences. The Conference held by ANAS Institute of Literature named after Nizami and Ilyas Afandiyev Literaty Charity Foundation was declared open with the speech of the director of the Institute.

Since the date of establishment Ilyas Afandiyev Literary Charity Foundation has been studying the boarding schools and children’s homes operating in the Republic and their conditions to realize its charity activities. The Foundation has already received some letters and appeals.
